Register Now for Dance Marathon!
Come dance your heart out at the 2nd annual AU Dance Marathon! We’ll be dancing for 12 hours to raise money for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, which supports pediatric AIDS research and treatment worldwide. Women’s Initiative
Women's Initiative is a non-partisan, inclusive department of the Student Government that helps coordinate and advise campus departments and committees on programming and policy decisions that affect the women students, faculty, and staff of American University. Women's Initiative focuses on making AU a safer, more equitable, and more empowering place for women through AU traditions like the Breastival, AIDS Walk Washington, World AIDS Day, the Vagina Monologues, Women's History Month, and Take Back the Night. Not only do we plan some of AU's most popular annual events, but we also work on policy issues like pushing the administration to create a Women's Resource Center, collaborate with the Student Health Center, and working with Public Safety to keep campus safe for everyone.
